SUMMARY AND LEARNING PROCESS

hey!! here are parts of the proposal that we wrote, so that you all will understand better what our class is doing for learning fest:) the coloured words are the imp parts!

Executive Summary

K is for Kimchi! Join us forK-Wave Hits the SAINTS’!

Thanks to globalisation, the world has grown smaller and has made different culture assessable to us. In our country alone we can find bits of other countries. Singapore is a multi-ethnic society. Besides the food from our four basic races, we also have food from all over the world. In our ever growing country we have surely come across more and more Korean restaurants and most of us would have come across this term kimchi.

How many of us actually know what it is? I admit I had no idea what it was or so much as heard of it before until it was suggested. Some who had heard of it did not know what it was. Others gushed over the greatness of it. But none of them knew how exactly Kimchi came about.

That’s exactly what we have decided to set out to do. ‘K-Wave Hits the SAINTS’ is here to teach fellow Saints on how exactly Kimchi came about. Not to mention, how to make it too! So they can have their own DIY Kimchi! There will be no more reason to spend money on buying ready made Kimchi. Save money by making it yourself!

Besides teaching Saints how to make Kimchi as well as its history, we will also be selling home-made Kimchi ( for customers who do not have the time to attend our workshop) done by none other than ourselves. I am sure students interested in the K-Wave will be thrilled.

1. Learning Process

Kimchi represents Korea's best known food. Koreans serve Kimchi at almost every meal, and few Koreans can last more than a few days before cravings get the better of them. Despite a reputation for being spicy, most people usually develop a taste for it, and many Singaporeans also find themselves missing it after returning from Korea. Thus we thought about learning the process of Kimchi making. Our class has two Korean students, who are more than willing to share the traditional way of Kimchi making. During weekends, our class would meet up at the house of our Korean students to learn the art of making Kimchi. The whole Kimchi making process will be filmed down and it will be played during the workshops. In addition, we would also be learning the history of Kimchi so as to understand the Korean culture better.

Publicity people!

Publicity people!

Ok.
You guys need to quite a few things.

Firstly, there's the poster.
It has to be an A4 sized poster.
This has to be done by the following Monday, 27th April.

I'm so sorry if this is rather last minute!
We just wrote the new proposal a yesterday.
There's no need for each of you to make one.
The minimum is one.
However, the more the better.

Details:
We are going to be teaching how to make Kimchi.
Emphasize that the "teacher" will be a korean and that the Kimchi is purely korean style :P
Pictures of Kimchi on the poster will be great.
Mention that they will get to taste the kimchi we make and have hands on experience as well.
They get to take away the Kimchi they make on their own!

A suggestion. I know this sounds rather corny but its rather cute ><><) What will be on the outside? A suggestion, perhaps a sticker with our class, title - "K- Wave Hits the SAJCians" can be used as a label.

Pekhar don't worry. The going out to announce thingy will not be needed.
If there's a need... We'll settle that later.

Get moving!

Ok guys!

We seriously gotta be serious.
There's a whole lot of things to do.

Firstly, we have yet to complete our we Korean lessons.
-------We'll be having another lesson sometime next week.

Secondly, poster have to be done as soon as possible.
--------- It has to be done on an A4 sized paper.
--------- The more the better.
--------- Details to be placed on the poster will be confirmed (maybe sent to you through email)

Thirdly, if we're really going to be doing as planned in the proposal, we gotta start learning how to make kimchi too.
--------- This I will need your opinion.
--------- Do you guys really want to sell this? As well as Korean tidbits?

They'll be more to add on to the list.
However, these are the ones of higher priority as yet.

Our 1st lesson

Ok...

So we supposedly had our first lesson today.

Though it was short, we had a rather fun time trying to pronounce the various words that were rather foreign to most of us.

We learn simple phrases like hello, goodbye, handsome and of course the first thing we always learn - stupid.

Our next lesson will perhaps be tomorrow.
Depending on what the rest of the class thinks.
